06/07/2020 — Congratulations to five juniors and three seniors for achieving Academic All-Sate HONORS for the 2019-2020 season. The Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (TISCA) published their list of student athletes on their website (ticaonline.org) in late May.
Juniors Sara Bedolla, Presley Heitzmann, Tristan Lashbrook, Kelsey Portwood, and Jada Shorter earn this honor for the first time. For the second year in a row, seniors Madi Kohlmeyer, Olivia Gonder, and Abby Portwood achieve this honor. Several swim and dive Bulldogs were very close to receiving this award too.
For a full list of 5A and 6A swim, dive and waterpolo athletes across Texas achieving academic all-state honors, visit tiscaonline.org, click Honors from the top navigation bar, then 2020 Honors, and finally 2020 Academic All State Honors.

The same site also presents the all-state teams across individual, relay and diving events during the 2019-20 season. For a recap, see the story posted on the magnoliahighathletics.com site on April 4, 2020.
Certificates for the all-state team and academic awards can be accessed online here (http://www.tiscaonline.org/clubs/6768/pages/179004). TISCA encourages coaches and athletes to use this link to print certificates, considering the impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on team gatherings.
