Varsity Squads Punch Their Ticket to Region

On a beautiful Thursday, October 17th your Bulldog Cross Country Program competed in the District 19-5A Championships at Burroughs Park in Tomball. All 4 Divisions ran well seeing 15 runners set their personal best.

Varsity Girls were led by last years single returning member Emma Ellis who finished 2nd overall. Emma was followed by Freshman Ashlee Glover with an 8th place overall finish, Freshman Abigail Ray was 15th, Freshman Alexis Madden 16th, Senior Anjoely Ramirez 22nd rounding out the top 5 point earners. The teams 6th and 7th runners were Freshman Julia High in 27th and Sophomore Kesley Stewart with a 33rd overall finish. The Lady Bulldogs finished 3rd overall making another trip to the Region III Championships.

Junior Dylan Sequeira led the Varsity Boys to a 2nd place team finish. Dylan finished 3rd overall with follow teammate Keaton Strait (Junior), finishing 4th. Next were Freshman Jack Voelker at 18th, Junior Matthew Connally with 21st, and Senior Roberto Flores with a 28th overall finish for the top 5 point earners. Senior Grayson Murphy was 42nd while Freshman Bryan Rojas 43rd for the teams 6th and 7th runners. Joining the Region team is Sophomore Dylan Wyrick who ran an impressive JV Boys race finishing 2nd overall while running one of the 5th best times of the Bulldogs and shattering his on PR by 30 sec.

The Region III Cross Country Championships will be held tomorrow, Monday, October 28th at Huntsville's Kate-Barr Park hosted by Sam Houston State. Girls will run at Noon with boys competing at 12:35.

Both JV Girls and Boys finished 2nd overall which is a huge improvement from last years District finish. Girls were led by Freshman Lauryn Baeza finishing 3rd, Sophomore Tori Viator at 5th, Junior Shelbey Lawrence 11th, Sophomore Avery Tindall 12th, and Freshman Jadyn Wilkerson 13th to complete the ladies top 5. Those that followed were Junior Carla Rodriguez, Junior Natalie Lawson, Freshman Avery Cox, and Sophomore Grace Esquivel.

Boys were led by Sophomore Dylan Wyrick who finished 2nd overall and earned a spot on the Region Boys Team. He was followed by Sophomore Conner Ashmore 13th, Junior Christopher Bonilla 18th, Senior Josh Martin 23rd and rounding out the top 5, Sophomore Cesar Varela at 30th. Finishing close behind were Freshman Cody Eaheart, Freshman James Davis, Freshman Chace Allen, and Junior Isaiah Marcha.
