Our divers got it started Friday night with strong results on Day 1 against more than seven Houston-area high schools at the Tomball Invite.
Top diving results for the Bulldogs in the one-meter dive over six rounds came from juniors Jett Lively and Jada Shorter.
Jett, who was the lone Bulldog in the boys’ competition, finished first among eight divers with a score of 252.75 points. His score was nearly 70 points higher than the second place finisher. Jett looks to be on a good path to improve on his fifth-place performance at the UIL 5A State Championships last season in Austin.
Jada placed second in a large field of 16 girls. Her score of 193.80 was right behind the winning score of 211.10. Jada also looks to be on track to improve upon her twelfth-place finish at the State Championships earlier this year in March.
The Lady Bulldogs had four divers competing. Joining Jada were Madison Barber, Sara Bedolla, and Briana Simon, who all provided valuable points toward the combined swim and dive team competition.
Day 2 of the meet is today with swimming. Competition starts at 9:45 a.m. at the Tomball I.S.D. Aquatic Center.
