10/17/2018 – The Bulldogs and their crosstown rivals, Magnolia West Mustangs, will co-host the Magnolia I.S.D. Fall Sprint Classic this Saturday at the Michael D. Holland Aquatic Center on campus.
Competition starts at 11:30 a.m. with diving and then swimming at 12:15 p.m. There will be more than 200 athletes from nine schools competing at the annual event, which is scheduled to finish around 2:15 p.m.
The Bulldogs and Mustangs will compete against teams from the Homeschool Christian Youth Association, St. Pius High School, Kingwood Park, Lake Creek, New Caney, Porter, and John Cooper.
Divers compete in the one-meter dive, while swimmers race only the short distances, including the 200-yard medley, 200-yard free and 400-yard free relays. For individual events, swimmers will compete in the 50-yard distance for each stroke, plus the 100-yard and 200-yard distances in the freestyle events. Instead of the standard 200-yard individual medley, there will be a 100-yard version.
Swimming warm-ups are between 10–11 a.m., and divers follow at 11 a.m. for 25 minutes before their 11:30 a.m. start.
Meet organizers and MISD booster clubs want to thank everyone who signed up to time and/or bring hospitality donations. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
