Your Magnolia Lady Bulldogs have won their last 3 meets starting with Texas A&M, then on to the McNeil XC Invitational, and the Lake Houston Invitational, while the Magnolia Bulldogs have won their last two with McNeil and Lake Houston. They both road that wave of success on into the District 19-5A Championship Meet this past week.

On Thursday, Oct. 11th at 8:30 am the Lady Bulldogs began their race to a 3rd straight District Championship Title in District 19-5A. On a wet, soggy, and muddy 3 mile course the ladies earned their way to another title led by Sophomore Emma Ellis who finished 2nd overall behind Magnolia Wests' Peyton McQuillan. Following close behind as the ladies ran in a close pack were Senior Michelle Folk finishing 3rd, Junior Sara Eddings 4th, Sophomore Joanna Durdin in 6th, and rounding out the top 5 with Senior Katelynn Ashmore who finished 8th with all finishing in the top 10. The top 5 earned a Team Score of 23 beating out 2nd place team Magnolia West by 45 points who finished with 68 points. Senior Audrey Mullen, who was 6th for the Lady Bulldogs, finished 12th overall, with Senior Isabel Bozarth as their 7th runner finishing the course 33rd overall.

Boys began their journey at 9:00 am toward the programs first title since 2012. They were led by Sophomore Dylan Sequeira who also earned the title of Individual District Champion finishing 1st overall. Sophomore Keaton Strait followed suit finishing 6th with Senior John Ward 8th, Senior Houston Bailey took 9th and Senior Josh Slocum routing the top 5 with a 10th place finish. The Bulldogs top 5, just as the ladies, finished in the top 10 with a Team Score of 34 narrowly over 2nd place College Station's Team Score of 39. Junior Roberto Flores and Sophomore Matthew Connally rounded off the 7 member squad with placings of 34th and 38th.

Awesome job to a great season!

Both teams advance on to the Region 3 Championship on Oct. 22nd where they plan to continue the season on State on Nov. 3rd. The Lady Bulldogs compete first at 1:40 and the Bulldogs at 2:15 in the afternoon. Good luck ladies! Good luck gentlemen!
